Hi Everyone,
I hope all our New Zealand and Australian readers had a great ANZAC Day. It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks since we launched the newsletter, and we crossed the 1000 subscriber threshold last week. Thanks to everyone who has been referring friends and colleagues. It's much appreciated.
I have always been a little afraid of building in public and putting myself out there on the internet. However, the daily routine of writing and curating has given me a sense of purpose and makes me excited to get out of bed in the morning. The commitment to showing up daily reminds me of my athlete days, although it is slightly easier on the body, which is cool.
Aside from the learning experience, the best part has been receiving messages from people thanking me for the newsletter and expressing interest in delving deeper into the topics or tools covered. It's been incredible reading all the thank-you emails, texts and Instagram messages, especially hearing about many of you implementing AI into your jobs and businesses. Our number one goal is to help educate and upskill as many people as possible on this emerging technology. It's a true game changer and unfortunately is going to leave many people behind. So, I will continue to do my best to upskill and educate as many people as possible via the newsletter.
In other news, you will see a slight brand refresh. Again, this was done using AI, but it was slightly more curated this time. It will make more sense tomorrow with another reveal. Meanwhile, here's some interesting news related to the creative conundrums caused by AI that we discussed last week.
Grimes Tells Fans To Deepfake Her Music
In the wake of the AI-generated hit Heart on My Sleeve going viral with deepfakes of multi-platinum artists Drake and The Weeknd, pop star Grimes has invited her fans to create music with her voice.
On Sunday night she tweeted, “I'll split 50% royalties on any successful AI generated song that uses my voice.
Runway release their iOS AI video generation app and it’s incredible
If you're interested in keeping up with the video side of AI art generation, I highly recommend checking out Runway. They just released an iOS app called RunwayML that enables Text-to-Video via their Gen-1 model. We feature Runway in our Product of the Day section below.
