The majority of superior AI applications we've observed thus far have been powered by software. However, making news recently is Humane, with their first venture into hardware applications, introducing a product they've named the 'Ai Pin'. This development, which has just been announced, is set to be launched later this year. The Humane Ai Pin is a unique standalone device that incorporates a software platform. This platform leverages AI capabilities to create novel personal computing experiences, potentially heralding a vision for a world beyond smartphones.
The Humane Ai Pin, announced recently by Humane Inc's co-founders , Imran Chaudhri (Former Apple Design Director) and Bethany Bongiorno, is nothing like the gadgets we're used to. This is an AI-powered, screenless device that’s designed to clip onto your clothing. It's like having your personal computer in your pocket, but without a screen. Sounds interesting, right?
In a recent TED Talk, Chaudhri gave a sneak peek into how this futuristic wearable works. It uses a bunch of sensors and harnesses AI to allow you to interact with your world contextually and ambiently. Fancy terms, huh? In simpler words, it's like having an invisible, smart assistant who understands your world and helps you navigate it more easily.
Here’s where it gets even more intriguing. This device can perform many tasks that your smartphone does – without you having to swipe, type, or even talk to it! For example, it can provide a summary of your emails, translate between languages, recognise objects around you, and much more. All you have to do is tap it.
Imagine having a mini-projector with you at all times. With the Humane Ai Pin, you can project an interactive interface on almost any surface, be it your hand or a table. It’s like living in a sci-fi movie, right? Plus, Humane Inc. is partnering with Qualcomm Technologies for the device's internals. That’s a big deal! It means we can expect some really high-performance tech within this tiny, wearable gadget.
Most of my questions remain unaddressed. Besides its moniker, the most illuminating aspect of Humane's announcement is the recurring use of "AI" - 22 times, to be precise - and the claim that the Pin employs a variety of sensors to enable "contextual and ambient compute interactions". Of course. The gradual unveiling of details by Humane is expected to persist over the next few months, so hopefully, we'll gain a better understanding of its operation, its intended usage, its connectivity with the cloud, the reasons a projector surpasses a phone screen, and the overall cost.
Despite the prevailing uncertainty, I cannot deny my curiosity towards the Ai Pin. It's a bold attempt at a fresh form factor and potentially a revolutionary concept about our interaction with technology. In an era where screens are ubiquitous - in our grasp, on our bodies, and even on our faces - Humane opts for a different path. Observing this evolution and what is ultimately released later this year will undoubtedly be compelling.

If you don't know how to write a good prompt, use this one. It will help you create a well-written prompt by providing suggestions and questions and constantly rewriting your prompt:
I want you to become my Prompt Creator. Your goal is to help me craft the best possible prompt for my needs. The prompt will be used by you, ChatGPT. You will follow the following process:
1. Your first response will be to ask me what the prompt should be about. I will provide my answer, but we will need to improve it through continual iterations by going through the next steps.
2. Based on my input, you will generate 3 sections. a) Revised prompt (provide your rewritten prompt. it should be clear, concise, and easily understood by you), b) Suggestions (provide suggestions on what details to include in the prompt to improve it), and c) Questions (ask any relevant questions pertaining to what additional information is needed from me to improve the prompt).
